[peter doesn't argue, partially because he's still giggling and partially because he's temporarily fascinated by this sudden bout of mothering. the fact that it's hidden beneath a glare and a bit of a snit doesn't change what it is.
he's also wondering how isaac is going to tell their socks apart, because peter's pretty sure they all got shoved into one drawer. and, you know. whether there's really a difference.
[that's better, really. it'd be weird if he was. peter reaches a hand out from within the burrito to snatch the socks, wiggling around beneath the blanket to put them on. one of them is stretched to fit a foot slightly bigger than peter's, the other is probably his own. it doesn't really matter.]
[the jerky hits and bounces on the mattress and peter decides it's worth unburritoing to get it. he eats carefully, though, like he's not really hungry. grief tends to put him off his feed. but isaac isn't wrong that he needs to eat. the wolf isn't going to grieve like the boy does. so he eats.]
Got tired of worrying about eating every time something or someone decides to make it an adventure to get to the kitchen.
[he finishes the piece of jerky he's eating, closes the bag carefully and tucks it back under the bed. then he relinquishes half of the blanket and half of the pillow, since he's already on his side of the bed.]
[Isaac finds himself sighing when Peter indicates that they should lie down and flops down onto the bed, tugging half the blanket over him- still grumbling slightly about how it's barely midday, but. They could both probably use the rest.]
[every other time isaac has gotten into bed with peter, peter's rolled over, so that they were lying back to back. this time he doesn't. it's still a far cry from anything even resembling a snuggle, just the light press of peter's forearms to isaac's back instead of lying spine-to-spine. it takes much longer than usual for him to fall into an uneasy sleep full of uneasy dreams, but once he does he won't stir if isaac gets out of bed again.]
[Isaac notices the change, but he doesn't comment on it yet, preferring to stay quiet as Peter's arms press against his back. He doesn't really move, doesn't speak- Isaac isn't used to staying quiet, isn't used to listening, but the sound of Peter's breathing is slowly lulling him into a dizzy sense of consciousness, where he's quite sleeping, but too hazy to be focused and awake.

the wondering makes him stop giggling, at least.]

Have you eaten?
action
...don't remember. So probably not.
action
You only eat the natural stuff, right? Fruits and crap.
action
There's a stash under the bed.
action
[Judging you so hard rn.]

[He laughs, before starting to rummage- finding it by scent and tugging the jerky out from under the bed, tossing them toward Peter a moment later.]
There you go.

[Isaac nods, moving to sit on the edge of the bed again. Though, on second thought-]
Do you- I mean, are you okay? You need to be alone or anything?
action
Okay, no. Wanting to be alone, also no.
[that is not a small admission, not at all.]
Done talking about her, though.
action
[So, he stays there- though not really knowing what he can do is sort of depressing.]
Is there anything to talk about that won't piss either one of us off?
action
Movies, maybe? Comics? Otherwise...probably not.
[he grimaces, sighs.]
You don't need to do anything. Breathing is enough.
action
[He just nods.]
I can do breathing.
