[It's a bit odd to see the concern there. Not that she thought Isaac was a cold and heartless person, but that it comes to the surface so quickly. Derek had barely taken a part in their lives until recently and all the times they had reached out to him - he just pulled away further. Maybe Isaac and him had made some actual progress and she had missed her chance.]
I can't feel anyone inside. [She's not sure if her ability can reach that far, but either way there's no one to move that isn't the person beside her.]
[Isaac nods, pressing a hand against the door and taking a deep breath before his own shadow gathers unnaturally at his feet and moves to slip under the door. He closes his eyes in focus, directing the shadows up the wood on the opposite side of the door before the lock clicks next to him. Success.
He spares a glance toward Erica before he twists the knob and opens the door.]
Derek? I'm breaking into your place. [His voice is louder than normal, as if calling to someone in a different room.] I'm gonna mess everything up if you don't come out here.
[Erica watches Isaac work, a proud smirk flashing on her features as she sees his shadow unlock the door for them. That's a skill she thinks might come in handy at some point.]
I don't hear anything and there's definitely no one in there.
[Isaac hears her, but he tries for a moment longer, moving to open the door to the bedroom and bathroom, before coming back out to the living area, his jaw tight with anger.]
Damn it.
[In anger, he lashes out, kicking at the flimsy coffee table, which topples over onto its side, breaking the mug that was resting on top of it.] We just talked about this.
[She doesn't flinch at his outburst, because she understands where Isaac had been trying to go with his relationship with Derek. Having it be that close and then ripped out from under him deserved a bit of anger.]
It's better than him leaving and having never tried at all.
What if he comes back and pretends he doesn't remember it again? It's a convenient way out for him, after I already went the extra mile to let him back in.
Then it'll just be another thing we have to deal with because of our situation. It's not our fault that he's not here.
I don't think it's his fault either, but he had tried to figure things out. I think if he had just left and hadn't even cared to try that it would feel a lot crappier. [It was sort of how it felt with her and Derek, so she can speak from a tiny bit of her own perspective.]

Can you send a shadow in?

[He doesn't mean to snap at her but he does, frustrated and just- helpless. He hates it.]
He was going to start over. We were going to start over. He apologized and now he's just fucking gone.

[He's calming down a little now- still not perfect, but better. Somewhat.]
...sorry for freaking out like that.

It's fine. I know you guys had been working things out. You're allowed to be ticked off at this.

[Still, there's a long pause before Isaac looks back toward her.]
What now?

A long pause.
And then Isaac just starts laughing.]
...alright. Let's do it.
