[Erica's glad that he didn't comment on the kiss thing. It's not that she didn't think he's attractive, they already have gone around that topic more times than is really needed for best friends, but she doesn't feel that way about him. It was more of a trust thing, that if she was going to die at sixteen she didn't want to die without experiencing that. She trusted him to make sure that she didn't die before that happened.]

I think that's the first time I've ever heard that... about being in Asgard. It'll work out, though. It's a big deal and if that kiss was going to happen, then it's going to happen again. You just have to be patient. [She gives his hand a squeeze.] You are the worst at being patient, so I'm just telling you to be patient.

Don't tell me to be patient.

[He huffs at her, but he can't help his mouth quirking up in a little smile at that, looking up toward her with a little sigh. Erica is shorter than him, but Isaac still manages to find a way to lean over and fit his head on her shoulder- not in an embrace or anything, but just resting it lightly against her.]

I guess I don't really have another choice though.

[When his head settles to her shoulder, she tips her own head to rest hers there too. She knows how it feels to have that sinking feeling like it'll never work out. That this is all there is to the things you want the most. It's not something she talks about, let alone anything that she can express into words, but she can at least apply those experiences to something close to what Isaac is going through.]

You could always look forward to it, instead of thinking of it as something that could happen - think of it as something that will happen. Not to be all positive thinking bullshit on you, or anything, but it'll make you feel better if you just look at it as something that's gonna happen. No matter when, just that it will.

[It's what helped her through most of high school.]

[He just shrugs, threading his fingers through hers and squeezing her hand gently.]

Feels like I'm setting myself up for failure.

[Erica gives his hand a squeeze back.]

How did you set yourself up for failure? I doubt you forced yourself onto him. I really don't think that you're unattractive. You have a similar understanding of what you're missing by being here. [The werewolf thing... sadly something she can't relate to.]

I'm pretty sure you're not setting anything up for failure or success. You're just here Isaac and so is he and if it works - it works. I don't think the way you feel is a set-up for anything. It's a lot more complicated than that, but that's a good thing. If it was easy, everyone would date Scott McCall. [Her elbow nudges at him playfully.]

By telling myself everything will work out.

[He huffs, trying not to flush at the idea of dating Scott. That's so not cool.]

To be honest, it probably won't. Basically everyone we know except for Scott is against it.

Except for Scott, who by the way is the only one that matters in that choice, you and me.

[She takes a deep breath and exhales it slowly.] I don't know. I am not the dating expert, but there's nothing wrong with a little hope.

[He manages a wry smile.]

No. You're right, I just- I dunno. We'll see what happens.

Good. [She nods her head against his.] I like being right.

[He huffs, before shaking his head.]

Whatever.
